Hello everyone! How is your day going? Mine is going great! Today I made up a new game for the Hasbro game competition! I think children can learn how to problem solve quickly and logically with my game, and maybe even my game can train them in the future for situations like these! Here is my work!
Name: Game of war.
How to play:
There can be only up to 4 players.My game concept is also only for 9+. Each player must get a whiteboard that is included with the set as well as a marker. On the board, there are 4 sections, labelled: Troops, supplies,vehicles and weapons. In the weapons section, you write down what weapons you would need, and the amount of weapons each. In the troops section you write down any animals or human occupations, and write down the amount of each you need, for example: 40 lions and 60 soldiers.
In the supplies section you write down what supplies you need and the quantity, for example: 20 tents and 70 portable stoves. And you know what you need to do for the vehicles , if you don't, just write down the vehicles you want and the quantity.Each player will take turns attacking and stealing.You can basically do what ever you want in “the war”. Among the players, there should be other people who are given roles. So for example: if you have 4 players, you need 6 more players as well, those six players will get roles and are not players. The roles are:
Roles and description:
Nurse: The nurse can heal anyone at any time, but to get healed you need to offer the nurse something, basically its a trade. You Give the nurse something, and the nurse heals you. But the nurse chooses something from you “inventory” to take, but they cant take all of that thing.
Vet: The vet is like the nurse but it heals your animals if you have any. In order for the vet to heal your animal, you have to give and uninjured animal to the vet that they can give away at any time. The vet gets to choose which animal they get. They can only take one animal at a time.
Black smith worker: The black smith can fix or give you new weapons, but, just like the other roles, they get to take something from your inventory. At the start they get to write down what they have to trade.
Supplier: The supplier gives you new supplies in case you need something or something is broken. Just like the other roles, they get to choose something of yours to take in order to trade.
Judge: When things get quite extreme, players are able to go to the judge. The judge will then choose if you team up with someone, or if you or someone else is thrown in “jail”. If you are thrown in jail, the judge gets to choose the amount of time you stay there. 1 year = 1 min. For example: If a judge says you are in jail for 4 years, you cant do anything in war for 4 min. Player are able to do anything to you army, they are also able to steal things from you while you are in jail.
The host: The host is the most important role of all. They get to make decisions like: When its night and day, If someone is dead or not, if a troop is dead or not, if something is broken etc.
Rules:
1. Only the host can decide if someone/something is dead or broken or not.
2. The judge can only send someone to “jail” for up to 10 years/10 minutes.
3. You are not aloud to kidnap troops.
4. Once the host says a player is “dead”, the player that is “dead” is out of the game.
5. Have fun!
In conclusion, My game is meant to teach problem solving skills to kids, and maybe even train them for situations like these. The reason why my game is 9+, is because I think it’s a bit brutal for kids under 9, and the last thing I want is my game blowing up, but then parents getting mad at me because their 6 year old are traumatised because they searched about war on a device, to learn about my game.
